Overview

I've been inspired by a few sources for this database program. Purple Sorcerer Games has some great utilities. There was also a GURPS character creator that let you import and export your data--it even allowed importing world book content. I’ve mixed in a bit of my own desires for a Judge’s bookkeeping chores too.

Java and SQLite will be used to ensure the source code runs on everything from phones and tablets to PCs, Macs, and Unix systems. Cross-platform compatibility will be built in from the get-go.

Features

• Import/export from single items to whole world books
• Custom content space, including calculated abilities (e.g. Sanity, Grit)
• Offline-first design for privacy and disaster readiness
• Online repository to share and discover user-generated content
• Log in feature to allow a Judge to keep "Judges Eyes Only Secrets" away from players eyes

Item Categories in the Database:

• Player Characters (PCs): Full character data with optional portraits
• Non-Player Characters (NPCs): Similar to PCs
• Monsters: Printable bestiary storage
• Items: Mundane to magical items
• Spells, Mutations, Class Skills & Abilities
• Powers: Custom mechanics tied to items/settings (e.g. Green Lantern's ring)
• Future feature: Royalty-free nature sound effects for monsters

This document is a draft. Users will be able to create and manage cross-world content through a SETTINGS feature.

The community-focused repository will help share content across various OSRs, and increase visibility for DCC-based games.

This project supports Goodman Games and 3rd Party Publishers. It’s built for fun--a fan project with fair pricing (around $20) to encourage accessibility and reduce piracy.

I want to build a program that will be a benefit to the community. I'm not perfect and I don't know what Judges would like in a tool box program like this. So far a lot of people like the custom content ability as well as being able to share items and monsters.

My style of Judge's bookkeeping naturally differs from everyone else's. So I'm asking for help from the community to make a better project for the community. So shoot me a line if you have an idea for a feature that you like but don't see.
